De-galvanising sheet metal

I am a manufacturer of Sheet metal parts from fresh CR Sheet. As for cost saving process of my small parts, we would like to use defective Galvanised Sheet thick 24-22 Swg which is very low in price comparing fresh CR Sheet. Please suggest us the simple method of degalvanising the sheet which should be in low investment and cost saving. Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Hi there, you can remove the zinc plating with a solution of hydrochloric acid.

Yet you have to treat afterwards the surface in order to avoid rusting once you have removed the protective zinc layer.
