What is the better finish specification for steel close to the sea?

Q. I am an architect and as part of a project, we have a fabric canopy roof to a walkway. This is in Dubai, located close to the sea and the environment is very harsh. What is the best finish specifications for the steel support structure of the canopy? Is galvanised Mild steel with anti-rust paint from Hempel better than powder coated mild steel?

Hi, Jacob. Cost can become a factor, but the painted galvanized steel is far superior for long life.
