Yellow Iridite for aluminum parts to be painted

Need info for pre paint aluminum parts like yellow Iridite (chrome) process.

Hi, Jorge. Iridite is a trademark of Macdermid and they will advise you of the treatment parameters for their product. But, in brief, it involves alkaline cleaning of the aluminum, followed by etching, followed by de-smutting, followed by the Iridite treatment. This is a chromate conversion coating which prepares aluminum for painting. Please note that there is worldwide pressure to eliminate the use of hexavalent chromium as a pre-paint treatment, so you may want to use a RoHS-compliant trivalent Iridite process. Good luck.
