Etching Time for Aluminum Extrusions?

September 16, 2008

Please give me the answer for the below question --

What is the etching time for matte finish in Aluminium extrusion industry?

regards,

Mohammed Mohaideen

Hi, Mohammed. It will vary depending on the strength of the etch, the alloy being etched, and the degree of matte finish. But to give you an order of magnitude, an etch is generally something like 1 to 2 minutes.
