Inquiring after new kinds of composite mold coatings

Q. I'm investigating new composite coatings applied to molding industry besides PTFE. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rui Luis

A. Many different particulates can be incorporated into electroless nickel matrixes, Rui, including borides, silicon carbide, diamond particles, etc. Please tell us more about what you want and why. Thanks!

Q. Are there any composite coatings available that use aluminum bronze alloy? I am looking for a composite coating with gold/bronze color and good corrosion resistance.

Hi Terry. Unfortunately, "composite coatings" is a pretty vague, situationally dependent phrase. Some people call fiberglass coatings "composite coatings" because you have glass fibers in a plastic base. Some people call nickel platings that have imbedded particles "composite coatings".

You want your coating to have a gold/bronze color, and you want it to have good corrosion resistance, and those requirements are understandable. But why do you want it to be a composite coating? What are you trying to achieve in that area? Thanks.

Regards,

Q. Abrasion resistance and lubricity. I am currently using a Ni PTFE composite coating, but need to find a gold/bronze color option with similar corrosion resistance properties.
