-----Need cast zinc plated bright orange
We need to color a high amperage connector cover orange as well as provide corrosion protection. This part is for the upcoming Chevrolet Volt car and will cover a connector carrying 200 to 400 amps. The finish must stay adhered and not change color at a temperature of 257 degrees F. The substrate is cast zinc. We think powder coat over e-coat will work, but the thickness of powder will cause us to have to do post-powder coating machining to the part. So we want to know if there is any other kind of plating that avoids the thickness of powder coat but will still make the part orange. Thank you.

Hi, Russ. Perhaps electrophoretic lacquer? It is way thinner than powder coating.
