Welding after plating for corrosion resistance in alloy steel

Can anyone suggest suitable plating method where the product after plating will be welded. At present, we are masking the weld lip area and after plating and welding, the masked area is applied with Non-corrosive paint. Instead any plating type where welding can be done after the plating without any masking.

Hi, Prasath. It would be best to do the welding first and the plating last, if possible. If that cannot be done, it is probably possible for nickel plating to basically survive the welding process with nickel rod, as long as good aesthetics are not required.

Good luck.
