I seem to not be putting enough info on a specification

I read the other posts and I think I am missing something on my specification. Here is the spec: FINISH: PRIME AND PAINT IAW MIL-STD-171, COLOR PER FED-STD-595, NO26231,GRAY,SEMIGLOSS. The other posts have numbers such as 3.1.1.3 before the MIL-STD-171 as an example. What other information do I need to get this done correctly?

Bill,

You need to know which top coat you wish to finish with. You then need to refer to Table XV for full gloss coatings. That will give you your reference number so that you can quote the xx.xx.xx.xx type code.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
