First- are you passivating the stainless steel? This is necessary to get good resistance to corrosion and rusting. It is simple and easy to do, and should give you what you need.

Although 304 is a fairly good grade of austenitic steel, we have seen a rapid decay in the quality of this grade of steel over the past years. So, there is always a possibility that the wire you are using is not of good quality, but we cannot say that this is the case.

Let us know if we can help.
