How thick is layer of gold on plated craft wire?
For some of you my question may seem a little bizarre but I really want to find how thick a layer of gold plated craft wire is.
Thank you,

Hi, Lonut. Some of it isn't gold, but some of it is. I see no specs, and it's cheap, so I would have to believe that they put no more on than sufficient to impart a gold color. I'd estimate 10 millionths of an inch. It might be a little thicker because wire usually isn't plated at final size but plated at a larger diameter and then rolled down, and due to some variations when they do that, they may have to go a little thicker to maintain a gold color everywhere.
Someday someone in the business who sees this will give a real answer, but we don't know when.
