PVD coating in a small workshop?
August 10, 2008
Hello everybody
I manufacture brass fashion jewellery and I wanted to know if PVD coating can be done on a small scale like in a small workshop. if yes, from where can I buy the machine or whatever equipment is needed for the process.
Thank you
Best,

It's really not feasible to do PVD on a small scale. A friend of mine did put together a system for around $45,000, but he knew what he was doing, knew where to find used parts, and was willing to put in the time. I would suggest you send the parts out for coating.

It will depend on what you are trying to do and why. Look into CVD, it could be the answer to your problem and budget.
