-----10% Nitric acid stored in aluminum tank
I have a 10% nitric acid bath in an aluminum tank, Will nitric attack the aluminum?

It would be fine if the aluminum were pure aluminum BUT almost all aluminum is an alloy. The higher the percentage of metals that the acid will attack,(copper, zinc, etc) the faster you will get holes.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
