Copper-Nickel co-plating
I'd like to co-plate copper nickel using a single plating bath. Where can I find information on co-plating these metals and controlling the composition ratio?
Thanks,

Hi, Yyes, If you study the Nernst equation you will marvel that it is possible to plate any alloy at all. There are a number of plateable alloys but I am not aware of plateable copper-nickel alloys. Hopefully someone else will be.

Safranek's book Properties of Electrodeposited Metals and Alloys
[affil link to
Amazon
or
on AbeBooks affil links] lists references for nickel from 8% to 56% nickel, balance copper. These look like Russian authors, but are in English speaking publications. They are all from a pyrophosphate bath. Will it work? That is debatable. You can always buy the referenced Publications or copies of the articles and try it out in a lab sized trial.
It is very probably going to be tough to control. It certainly is not in commercial operation in the USA.
