How do you stamp the weight into an ingot of silver or gold

I am going to make several precious metal ingots and was wondering how I would stamp the weight of each ingot into the piece? Thank You for Your Help!

With metal stamps and a hammer. See your local tool supplier, or eBay, for metal stamps. Sizes from around 3 to 10 mm character height are readily available.
