-----Passivate Titanium Implants
Q. My Engineers tell me that anodizing our titanium implants gives us the same passivation as ASTM F86 does. Is this true? Do I need to have my implants passivated per ASTM F86 with an anodized surface finish?

A. Hi, Mark. ASTM F86 is a specification for marking implants, and includes cleaning and electropolishing requirements, etc. I don't quite understand your question, but I don't think I would make an implant that did not fully comply with recognized standards like F86.
