-----How to do Oil Rubbed Bronze finish on Aluminum
July 17, 2008
I am a metal worker in california and we do odd metal work for high end housing and special projects.
We are working on a project where the owner wants his Aluminum parts in thje build of the house to be plated to look like the popular ORB finish that is on many faucets and drains that are made of brass and copper.
What we need to know is if Is it possible to take the Aluminum and plate it to create an Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish?
Can a plater do this and what is required to do so.

Pemko (www.pemko.com) anodizes their aluminum fittings. Their formulation has changed over the years and looks more black then it did with bronze highlights. The finish is fairly durable but will scratch. You may want to use a protective coating, if your fixtures get much handling.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
