Test method to prove that casting was impregnated?

Is there any method to prove if an aluminium casting is impregnated or not?
I have to find a test method for impregnation on a casting.

Impregnated with what? If you are referring to another metal, then perhaps Auger analysis would work, depending on depth and size of the object. Auger is a surface analysis technique that can be performed by a number of advanced analytical laboratories. It has extremely low detection limits and can even profile through depth if required.
