Electroforming isn't sticking to steel surface

Dear Sir,

I am a beginner in electroforming process. I tried using electroforming using Nickel+Cobalt to try to restore worn part in mould. However the "electroformed" portion is observed to have low adhesion with the steel surface.

Would appreciate any advice / suggestions on how to improve the bonding / adhesion of the electroforming metal with the steel surface.

Best Regards,

Hi, Tjang. 90 percent probability that the steel simply isn't clean enough and active enough. After whatever you are presently doing, scrub the area with powdered pumice ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] and a tampico brush. Rinse it well. Sponge it with clean muriatic acid. Rinse it. Plate it. Neutralize with sodium bicarbonate and tell us how it went. Good luck.
