How can we do on-line control of tin (g/l) in chemical bronzing?

At the current time we are chemically bronze plating wire. The copper is being controlled by UV light to a perfect grams per liter setpoint, but does anybody know of a way to control the tin grams per liter? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

It might be possible to use a standard iodine solution of a strength a bit greater than your Sn control level, then colorimetrically measure the color of the excess iodine. Or, one might be able to add some type of buffering agent/ISA solution, and measure the Sn2+ via an ORP reading on the mixture.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
