-----Nickel sulphate Calculation Problems
I'm having a hard time with the nickel sulphate results I'm getting in the lab. Does any one have a specific formula for finding out the nickel sulphate I have two different ones so far not sure which to go with

Hi, Chris. It would be best if you told us the two formulas you have, and what kind of solution you are analyzing -- because that would put things in context, and people would be able to tell you "that's not applicable to your situation because . . ."

I do not have the factors in front of me; but the way it is done in a standard Watts bath is to determine total nickel metal, via EDTA titration, and chloride, via silver nitrate titration. The nickel in the nickel chloride present is subtracted from the total nickel present, and the difference multiplied by 4.5 (that factor I did recall) to get the nickel sulphate hexahydrate concentration.
