Using Alocrom aluminum in oil and gas industry platforms

Dear sir,
I'm serving the Oil & Gas industries and frequently supply equipment to offshore platforms.

Always the question is Aluminum is not 'prefer' or 'allow' to use at offshore due to the site environment.

Can you share with us, if the Aluminum product is Alocrom, can it protech against offshore climate. Any engineering data and info I can download?

Thanks.

John,

You really have to talk to the manufacturers of the materals for their opinion. In my humblest opinion I would suspect that a chromate conversion coating would not suffice, especially on its own. I am no marine expert but I would have thought you would have had a better chance if this was a key for painting/powder coating.
