Marble or wood finish powder coating

April 10, 2008

Hi I would like to know how they achieve the effect of wood grain and or marble effect powder coating.

I have been searching for answers on this for a while with no luck.

Thanks,

Layke Rossiello

There are several companies that supply this technology, a couple in Italy, one in Iran and some others.

There are trade names, but the process is often called sublimation printing. Try google.

As Geoff states there are several suppliers of wood grain effect. However, in addition to the sublimation process there are other approaches available, powder on powder and the latest using laser technology.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
