Commercial coating for 2024 aluminium fasteners

We are a manufacturer of special fasteners. We need a coating for 2024 Aluminium fasteners used in high volumes in commercial NOT aerospace applications and in quite hostile environments, frequently into stainless steel components. Alodine contains chrome 6 so is out. Many paint finishes Deltaseal/GZ/Xylan require Baking at temperatures above the acceptable 160-180 degrees C (much above this the alloy changes its characteristics)and the appliers seem, to have difficulty in controlling their temperatures! We need minimum 96 hours protection, preferably more.

Electroless nickel comes to mind. The sick green or brown that they put on deck screws might work as it is a dip/spin operation.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
