Titration Chemicals for Copper Electroforming Bath

March 27, 2008

I teach jewelry making at a local craft school and we would like to get our electroforming bath up and running again. The titration kit our tech. was using seems to be to old to give results (1986?).

Can anyone tell me the chemicals needed to test the levels of copper sulphate on eBay or Amazon [affil link] and sulfuric acid in our 30 gallon copper electrforming bath?

I would suggest that you get a copy of the Metal Finishing Guidebook published by Metal Finishing magazine. This includes a chapter on chemical analysis detailing the chemicals needed. The chemicals themselves can be ordered from the national supply companies on line.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
