Painting 24 gallon above deck aluminum fuel tank

I am replacing a fiberglass fuel tank on my boat with an aluminum tank. I use the boat mostly in saltwater and would like to protect the fuel tank from the elements. How should I go about painting a new customized aluminum fuel tank?

Sharkhide

on eBay or

Amazon

(affil links)

adv.

Hi Rafael,
I have a chemical we treat aluminum with that protects it from staining and oxidation. We use Sharkhide [on eBay or Amazon] Metal Protectant on aluminum hulls and components that are exposed to salt water all the time with great results.

Hope this helps,
