Heat treatment scaling problem

We are doing annealing treatment of SG Iron castings.We often face the problem of Scaling which is very hard to remove by the shotblasting operation.Is there any simple solution to avoid repeated shot blasting to remove the scaling?

The cheapest (but not cheap) is a reducing atmosphere furnace.
A vacuum furnace will also work, but requires a bit of tender loving care.
