what is the best powder coating for my application?

(2000)

Our company needs to coat a 302 stainless steel spring roughly 1" wide and 1.25" long. The springs will be in constant contact of hot (up to 200 deg f) and cold water. We would like to powder coat the springs. What is the best type of powder coating, nylon, epoxy, polyester, etc. The springs will be flexing roughly 1/2". Please reply.

The absense of answers here kinda makes me think this is a good question. I'd contact the FUNCTIONAL coatings division of one of the big coatings houses like Ferro, Dupont, Lilly, or PPG for information about the kind of coatings they sell for use on pipelines. These coatings aren't very pretty, but they are incredibly tough, and should fit your application, if the flexibility is not a problem. Good Luck!
