"Old Bronze" Finish for Wrought Iron

I am building a new home and want to put in a wrought iron railing on my staircase. I have ordered raw wrought iron and am now trying to figure out how to put a brown (patina?) finish on it to give it that aged "old bronze" or "old brick" look. This is a look that they are giving to light fixtures these days. Any information or resources would be appreciated. Thanks much.
