Help needed in coating material

(2000)

Hello, I am looking for a coating that has a very low coefficient of friction that can be used in a light load bearing application. Any help I can get with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Mike Carney Mfg. Engineering Mgr.

A PVD coating should suffice. Multi-Arc has a Ti-containing molybdenum disulfide coating that will do the job, called MOST. Balzer's Hard Lube is also an option. It's a WC/C coating. A number of PVD shops offer diamond-like carbon coatings that have very low friction coefficients, but lose their good properties in high humidity or high heat applications.
