Lasting Finishes on Copper
I have been working with copper ornaments, Garden and pond embellishments and wall hanging for years but have never found a finish that I am happy with.
Spraying with lacquer is ok but just doesn't last.
I have used various Patina's and oxidization treatments that are ok for effect but is not a the lasting finish I like.

A. I think that lacquer is probably the right approach, George, but there are many different kinds and formulations, and you may need to try a bunch or work with a lacquer specialist to choose a good one.

Hi George,
adv.
Take a look at Sharkhide
⇦ on
eBay
or
Amazon [affil link] Metal Protectant. Our customers use it quite often on things like decorative brass and copper items. It's perfectly clear, and won't peel, flake, or yellow once you've applied it.
I hope this helps,
