Lasting Finishes on Copper
(-----) February 26, 2008
I have been working with copper ornaments, Garden and pond embellishments and wall hanging for years but have never found a finish that I am happy with.
Spraying with lacquer is ok but just doesn't last.
I have used various Patina's and oxidization treatments that are ok for effect but is not a the lasting finish I like.

I think that lacquer is probably the right approach, George, but there are many different kinds and formulations, and you may need to try a bunch or work with a lacquer specialist to choose a good one.

Hi George,
adv.
Take a look at Sharkhide Metal Protectant. Our customers use it quite often on things like decorative brass and copper items. It's perfectly clear, and won't peel, flake, or yellow once you've applied it.
I hope this helps,
