Electroless Nickel Plating on Ductile Iron

I was hoping somebody could provide their experience using EN on high strength - low ductility ductile iron parts (A536-100-70-03). I am considering using EN as a corrosion resistant rotating seal land. The part itself operates under fairly high stresses but the seal land can be designed so that the plated zone is not subject to these.

Don,
High strength components can be EN plated with appropriate heat treat after plating. For your application: depending on part size and geometry, the entire part will need to be plated or majority masked off. If this is not practical, selectivly plating the seal land may be an option. Another option may be to press in an EN plated steel seal land.
