If you are looking for a bright finish, steel, S.S., or porcelain will produce good looking finishes in a mass finishing system, also you need a good liquid compound. This is called burnishing. If you use treated dry organic materials such as wood, corn cob, or shell media this will produce a smoother polished finish in a much longer time cycle. Machinery, hardness and the size of the part and media will effect the time cycle.
