-----Rusting of imported electroplated bolts
I imported bolts from China. The bolts were electroplated.
The bolts are rusting.
What is causing the corrosion

Unfortunately, Moeti, you have a lot of work before you in answering that question. The specification for the electroplating thickness and post-treatment may be inadequate, or the parts may not have been plated to the specification, or they may not have been properly dried before packaging, or the rusting could have occurred due to inadequate packaging for the journey. If they are expensive bolts, you can have them stripped and replated locally. However, you may want to test them before replating as the steel may be as inadequate as the plating :-(
Good luck.
