-----Ceramic coating of surgical instruments information
Q. I am interested to coat surgical instruments with ceramics like aluminium oxide and titanium carbide.please inform me that if this can be achieved by PVD process.

A. Yes, aluminum oxide and titanium carbide can both be applied using PVD. Look for vendors that us sputtering as the deposition technique which will be the most efficient method for production sized orders.
If your effort is to coat the surgical instruments with a dielectric coating to allow for electrical isolation to create a bipolar electrode for cauterizing scapels and such, a better approach is to use a coating technology using parylene which is a vacuum vapor deposition polymer material. Do a search on it and I'll bet it might suit your application well.
