Zinc electroplating over Malleable and Gray Iron

(2000)

I have pieces of Malleable and Gray Iron for Zinc electro plating. In this moment my process is:

1. Cleaning (abrasive blast and mild pickling)

2. Application of a flash plate

3. Normal Zinc electroplating (NaCN-ZnO-NaOH)

But the application of a flash plate is a problem for us, for the time. Is possible other process? Thanks,

Dear Mr Francisco,

By all means start using chloride Zinc instead of alkaline Zinc and forget about the flash Zinc forever.

Find a proprietary Vendor and let him take over.

What is the process you call "flash plate"?
