-----Can Citrisurf be used to clean stainless steel, then BeCu without cross-contamination?
We ultrasonically clean very small stainless steel housings, then clean BeCu contacts without changing the cleaning solution. Can this practice compromise the BeCu? We are seeing small areas of discoloration in the inside of the copper contacts that do not show up until days or weeks after cleaning.

Hopefully a Stellar Solutions [a finishing.com supporting advertiser] representative will see this and comment, Terri. But I would not expect a citric acid ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] product to impart long-term corrosion resistance to BeCu. I would expect raw BeCu to start discoloring days or weeks after cleaning regardless of what I cleaned it with. I think you need to get it gold plated immediately or treat it with a corrosion inhibitor or package it with a corrosion-inhibiting method.
