316? SS wires used as stays on sail boat are corroding due to salt water - 8 years in the Caribbean - what now to mitigate, stop the corrosion and repair multi-stranded wire to like new condition?

If your wires are rusted on the outside, consider what the state inside is probably like. The way to get them to as-new condition is to replace them.
