Can electropolishing be done on carbon steel material

We want to improve surface finish of carbon steel pipe for which we want to carry electropolishing.

Footnotes in the plating literature indicate that it can be done ["Other materials that can be electropolished include . . . carbon steel . . ."], but I don't personally know of any articles on the subject. Perhaps another reader can help. But consider electropolishing only if you need a property that mechanical polishing cannot deliver.

Yes, electropolishing on carbon steel can be done. As a matter of fact for many years we electropolish surgical instruments made from carbon steel.
