How does Diamond Kote fencing compare to powder coated?

2007

I am interested in buying an aluminum fence and faced with the decision of buying a "Diamond Kote" product verses a powder coated product.

Aren't they both electrostatically applied?
Will both chalk? Why or why not?

What about my weed-eater?

Dan Perry
Buyer - Raleigh, North Carolina

"Diamond Kote" is a trade name for a proprietary, un-named process, Dan, and it looks like lots of different companies claim that name. It probably has nothing to do with diamonds.

If they tell you what it is generically, and you tell us, then we can comment on the advantages and disadvantages of those types of coatings in this application. If they don't, we can't comment; sorry. Good luck.

And what about your weed-eater? :-)
