Pitting after Chrome Plating

I see pitting on chrome plated surface after some times. This is not observed when we inspect roll after chrome plating. We apply coat of oil to protect surface in transportation and storage. There is under coat of hard copper. Do you suggest any precautions? The problem become more severe in monsoon.

This may be due to pitting corrosion on substrate surface particularly during rainy season. It is always advisable to apply oil on substrate when stored for prolonged conditions.
