Blackening Copper Platter with Silver Inlay from Ottoman Empire

2007

We have a large Copper Platter with Silver inlay from Turkey dating back to the Ottoman Empire. The Copper was originally Blackened but now some of the Black has rubbed off.
This probably occurred as we polished the Silver throughout the years. The Platter was bought in the Middle East, in an antique store.

Would anyone know how best to re-Blacken the Copper to return it to it's original beauty?
Thanks.

I think that you can use alkaline ammonium persulphate solution: 7,5 gms ammonium or potassium persulphate
50 gm sodium hydroxide
1 lit water
Immerse your object in boiling solution(grease and oxide free)-immersion time 5-10 minutes -then rinse well and wax or lacquer it.
