-----Seacoast Architectural Applications
2007
I live on the Gulf Coast and am proceeding on construction of a Phase II of an Italian style concrete dry stack block residence.
My observation is that powder coated painted exterior architectural features do not last long without paint chipping and peeling and the white powdery coating forming on the aluminum...so I am interested in using an anodized process for some custom aluminum items.
Can anyone lead me to some data on the effects of a coastal environment on anodized aluminum ?
Thanks,Lundy

Properly applied powder coat will far exceed anodic coatings in salt laden air. Many powder coating shops do not know how to prepare aluminum to achieve the best bonding, but those that do will certainly produce a product superior to plain anodizing.
