I am refinishing an antique oak head board. Any suggestions to speed up the removal around the carvings. I am spending hours on this thing. After I put the stripper on and let it wait the required amount of time it says to remove it with water. This simply turns into a sticky gluelike mess. I am using Dad's stripper and it says to remove with either water or mineral spirits [adv: item on eBay & Amazon] . Help.
