Zinc Phosphate and large metal parts

I am using a calcium modified zinc phosphate in a dip line process for cleaning and preparing steel parts for the automotive rubber industry. I use stainless steel barrels to carry the parts through the line and the barrels rotate while in the baths and above the baths to reduce carry out.

Problem is that some parts weigh 2 pounds or more each and it seems to me that when they hit together they crush the phosphate coating thus causing adhesive to phosphate failure when molded. What can I do?

First of two simultaneous responses--

Joe - the quickest and easiest method to reduce part-on-part contact is to switch to a rack system from the rotating barrels now in use. I'm sure there are several good vendors listed under the equipment suppliers section here for you to contact. Good Luck.

Second of two simultaneous responses--

Hi Joe, I know this may sound way way out of line (no pun intended) but would it be possible to rack phosphate these parts? Other than that, parts that weigh 2 lbs apiece, I honestly couldn't see them not doing this when they're spun around in a barrel.
