SATIN FINISH

(2000)

We wish to impart satin finish as found on measuring instruments, these components are to be hard chromium plated.

Kindly advise most suitable method for impacting such finishes on steel components.

Thanks & regards.

Try abrasive blasting, before plating, with several different sized grits until you find one that works for you.

If you use aluminum oxide, any imbedded grit will dissolve in the caustic tank. White will last a lot longer than brown and give you an easier to control life making it more economical, even tho it costs more.
