Seeking non-carcinogenic MIL-C-5541

My problem is to substitute Alodine 1200 with a non-carcinogenic product, retaining the same performances(MIL-C-5541 [affil link]). Is it possible?

No. Similar, remotely possible the last I knew, but not the same.

P. Cirese :

Not yet...a process to replace and equal systems like Alodine 1200 are trying to be achieved.

MIL-C-5541 requires materials "accordance with the qualification requirements of MIL-C-81706 and been accepted for listing on the applicable Qualified Products List". MIL-C-81706 states "The material shall be formulated from chromates ... shall be capable of forming non-electrically a chromate conversion coating." It would be impossible to meet this requirement without carcinogenic chromium. There are non-chromium products being marketed as equivalent to MIL-C-5541, but they do not meet the specification requirements as currently written.
