Info on commercial gold bath companies
I'm trying to electroplate gold as part of my research. I've tried several baths from acidic to alkaline, all of which contained Potassium Gold Cyanide. I'm looking for a deposit with low resistivity and a smooth surface, which has microstructure implications as well as substrate roughness implications.
Realizing there are some additives and operating conditions already worked out for this type of deposit, I've decided I'd like to try some commercial non-cyanide baths to avoid reinventing the wheel. I've seen Technic promoted here several times for gold plating needs. I've contacted them but I would like a couple of choices if possible. Does anyone recommend any other companies for gold plating baths? Has anyone heard of OMI Sel-Rex? They were recommended by my sponsor, without an address or contact. I cannot find OMI Sel-Rex in the Thomas Register or anywhere on the web. Any help would be appreciated.

Sel-Rex was bought out by OMI many years ago. More recently OMI merged with Enthone to become Enthone-OMI. They are in New Haven, CT.
