Gold Plating of Seashells

I am an artist/designer and need to gold plate seashells for jewelry. The shells would be approximately 1" x 2" and I need to have hundreds of them. I need to know what method would be suitable for this project and where I might be able to obtain it. After working for many years in the High Tech industry I am looking forward to pursuing my passion of design during my retirement years. I know that things like baby shoes can be plated but have been unable to find a process that works on non-metallic surfaces. Thanks for your assistance!

We have an FAQ on plating non-conductive materials; it won't tell you everything, but it's a start. Good luck.
