Requirement of Insulation material between Galvanised Steel and Aluminum

2006

Sir,

We are installing aluminised electrical cable trays with the supports of galvanised steel supports. Is it mandatory to have insulation between these two metals?

Regards,

Durga Prasad
JGC - Saudi Arabia

I've seen a couple of 5-10 year old installations in shipshape condition with direct bolting without insulation; if you are in the interior regions of Saudi Arabia where its not humid I don't think you should face a problem.
