-----Stripping silver plate from nickel silver
We are a small producer of upscale fishing reels. We have not been able to find a supplier for nickel silver in bars that are large enough to make into footplates for the reels. I have located a casting company that will re-cycle old nickel silver table ware for us into machinable blanks if we strip the silver plate from the base metal. I have heard that nitric acid 15% solution will strip off the silver and leave the nickel silver base intact. How scary is this process? Fred

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
